What data does the schools widget show? ▾
For each nearby school: name, phase (Primary, Secondary, Sixth Form), type (Academy, Voluntary Aided, Independent, etc.), distance in kilometres, and the most recent Ofsted rating. The header shows the total school count in the radius plus an Ofsted summary like "9 Outstanding · 16 Good".
Can I change the search radius? ▾
Yes — set data-radius-km on the widget div. Default is 3 km. Set data-max-results to control how many schools are shown (default 6, sorted by distance ascending).
Does the widget cover Scotland and Wales? ▾
GIAS and Ofsted are England-only. Scotland uses Education Scotland inspections and Wales uses Estyn. The widget shows England schools today; Scottish and Welsh coverage is on the roadmap.
Why does Ofsted rating matter for UK property? ▾
School catchment is a top-three factor for family buyers. Properties within the catchment of an Outstanding-rated school typically command a 5–15% premium over comparable homes in lower-rated catchments. Surfacing the nearby Ofsted breakdown on a listing answers the school question before buyers have to ask.
